Water Resources Authority (WRA) is a state corporation established under Section 11 of the Water Act, 2016. it is mandated through delegated Authority on behalf of the National government to safeguard the right to clean water by ensuring that there is proper regulation of the management and use of water resources, in order to ensure sufficient water for everyone- now and in the future.However, the Authority has been in existence for 12 years following its establishment under the Water Act, 2002 as Water Resources Management Authority (WRMA).

Our approach as an organization in safe guarding the resource is entrenched in the Country’s Big 4 development agenda, Vision 2030 strategic objective on water and sanitation and the SDG 6 all these agenda’s and objectives aim to increase water resources availability for multipurpose use but also improve the quality and sustainability of water resources.

We are currently recruiting to fill the following positions;

  1. Senior Administrative Assistant – WRA Grade 7
  2. Senior Records Management Assistant- WRA Grade 7
  3. Senior Office Assistant – WRA Scale 9

Senior Administrative Assistant – WRA Grade 7

Job Summary  

The Senior Administrative Assistant will report to the Administrative Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • An officer at this level may also be deployed to undertake customer care duties;
  • Ensuring general cleanliness in offices is undertaken;
  • Ensuring provision of office equipment and materials;
  • Maintaining and updating furniture and office equipment inventory;
  • Making, receiving and transferring telephone calls from the switchboard;
  • Keeping contacts for all customers and all the Authority’s offices;
  • Directing customers to relevant offices guiding them on where to e services from the Authority;
  • Recording messages.

Required qualifications

  • Diploma in Front Office Operations and Customer Care,  Office Administration; Records Management, Human Resources Management, or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Relevant experience is desired
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

  • Negotiation skills.

Senior Records Management Assistant- WRA Grade 7

Job Purpose

Records Management Officers/Archivists are responsible for ensuring the flow of information and the security of documents of the Authority.

Job Summary  

The Snr. Records Management Assistant will report to the Records Management Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring letters are appropriately filed and marked to action officers;
  • Ensuring security of information/files in the registry;
  • Recording of incoming and outgoing mail; and
  • Maintaining an easy file retrieval system.

Senior Office Assistant – WRA Scale 9

Job Purpose

Office Assistants are responsible for attending to general routine office services which include providing cleaning services, messengerial duties and preparing tea and gardening.

Job Summary  

The Office Assistant will report to the Snr. Office Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and dust offices, work environments, machines/ equipment/apparatus;
    • Ensure habitable office conditions;
      • Collect and dispose waste;
      • Prepare refreshments;
      • Move or carry office equipment, furniture and ensuring orderly arrangement; and dispatching letters.
      • Arrange for meeting venues professionally and timely;
      • Keep inventory of kitchen equipment; and
      • Perform office and messengerial duties.

Required Qualifications

  • KCSE  D-  (minus) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Good understanding of English and Swahili languages; and
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

  • Communication skills;

Method of Application

Successful candidates will be required to fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 upon appointment to WRA service.

Terms of Service and Remuneration

  • Candidates  shall serve on probation for a minimum period of six (6) months and later be translated to permanent and pensionable terms based on performance.
