This article shows you how to access UMICH Canvas portal to create an account and also perform other account related activities like login, forgot password, and other relevant information.
Canvas UMICH is the home for all online courses, as well as assignments, discussions, and resources for hybrid and on-campus classes at the University of Michigan.

How to Login to UMICH Canvas Portal
To access umich canvas;
- Navigate to canvas.umich.edu
- Click on U-M Login
- On the login page enter your uniqname or friend ID
- Next, enter your password
- Finally, click on the blue “Log In” button.
How to View UMICH Canvas Courses In Wolverine Access
Students, faculty, staff, and alumni will typically be prompted to connect Canvas Umich to Wolverine Access the first time you log in. If you are not prompted or if you skipped this step, you can still set up the Canvas Connector. This will allow you to see your Umich Canvas Courses as tiles on your Wolverine Access Homepage.
The Canvas Connector is not currently available for friend accounts.
How to Set Up Canvas Connector
To connect Wolverine to Canvas, go to your User Menu > Preferences > Authorize (under “Authorize Canvas Connector”). Follow the on-screen prompts to authorize the connection between rSmart OneCampus (Wolverine Access) and Canvas.
How to view your canvas courses
You will see your Canvas courses appear beneath your favorites. You can change your Canvas courses to the “collapsed tile” view by clicking the gear icon next to Canvas Courses.
Canvas UMICH DearBorn Login
University of Michigan-DearBorn students can log into their canvas by;
- Navigating to umdearborn.edu/canvas
- On the portal page, click on “Login to Canvas”
- On the login page, enter your Login ID and Password to log in.

You can access your Canvas courses on the go with the Canvas Student mobile app available on both Play Store and App Store.
Most Canvas features will work with the web browsers installed on the devices; however mobile browsers are unsupported and certain features may not work.
Using a web browser on a desktop or laptop computer (not a tablet or mobile device) is highly recommended for taking quizzes or submitting assignments in Canvas Umich.
