Masai Technical Training Institute is a Government institution under Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), under the Ministry of Education. It is situated in Kajiado Town (Along Nairobi – Namanga Road) 70 Kms from Nairobi. It has a huge staff of fully qualified Trainers in their respective fields.
We are currently recruiting to fill the following positions;
- Vocational and Technical Trainer – Automotive Engineering
- Vocational and Technical Trainer – Agricultural Engineering
- Vocational and Technical Trainer – Electrical Engineering (Power Option)
- Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainers – Plumbing
- Vocational and Technical Trainer – Water Engineering
- Vocational and Technical Trainers- Clothing and Textile/Fashion and Design
- Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer – Cosmetology / Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy
- Vocational and Technical Trainers- Electronics Engineering
Vocational and Technical Trainer – Automotive Engineering
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:- a Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Production/Plant), Automotive Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Medical Engineering, or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution, been registered by the relevant professional body (where applicable)
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:-
- undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
- preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- setting and marking examination/assignment;
- carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and
- supervising trainees’ projects and practical work
Vocational and Technical Trainer – Agricultural Engineering
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Higher Diploma in any of the following disciplines: General Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Entrepreneurship, Animal Health Production or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.

- undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
- preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- setting and marking examination/assignment;
- carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and
- supervising trainees’ projects and practical work
Vocational and Technical Trainer – Electrical Engineering (Power Option)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in any of the following fields: Renewable Energy, Wind and Geothermal Energy, Solar Installation, Green Energy, Electrical (Power Option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.

- undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
- preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- setting and marking examination/assignment;
- carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and

Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainers – Plumbing
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have a Diploma in any of the following fields: Building Technology, Land Surveying, Building Construction, Plumbing or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution

- undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
- preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- setting and marking examination/assignment;
- carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and
- supervising trainees’ projects and practical work
Vocational and Technical Trainer – Water Engineering
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-a Bachelors Degree in any of the following fields: Building & Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Land Surveying, Physical Environment, Water Engineering, Architecture or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution; and be registered by the relevant professional body (where applicable).

- undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
- preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- setting and marking examination/assignment;
- carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and

Vocational and Technical Trainers- Clothing and Textile/Fashion and Design
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in any of the following fields: Clothing and Textiles Technology, Fashion Design, or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.

- undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
- preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- setting and marking examination/assignment;
- carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and
- supervising trainees’ projects and practical work
Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer – Cosmetology / Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma/TVET-CDACC level 6/City & Guilds in any of the following fields: Hair & Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.

- undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
- preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- setting and marking examination/assignment;
- carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and
- supervising trainees’ projects and practical work
Vocational and Technical Trainers- Electronics Engineering
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:- a Bachelors Degree in any of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Telecommunication Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution; and been registered by the relevant professional body (where applicable)

Method of Application
Interested and qualified persons are requested to submit their applications directly to the institutions where vacancies exist by filling ONE (1) PSC 2 (Revised 2016) application form and attaching copies of National ID card, academic and professional certificates, transcripts. So as to reach the respective Boards/Councils on or before 17th April 2023 (Latest 5. 00p.m East African Time).
