Mawego Technical Training Institute has recorded tremendous growth in the development of Middle Level Training as an Institution. It has continually fulfilled its mandate in training young people to acquire skills and technical knowledge that are in line with the industrial growth of our country and the vision 2030.

We are currently recruiting to fill the following positions;

1. Vocational and Technical Trainer- Building Technology
2. Vocational and Technical Trainer- Information Communication Technology (ICT)
3. Vocational and Technical Trainers- Secretarial Studies
4. Vocational and Technical Trainers- Clothing and Textile/Fashion and Design
5. Vocational and Technical Trainers- Cosmetology / Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy
6. Vocational and Technical Trainers- Aquaculture and Fisheries
7. Vocational and Technical Trainers- Electrical Telecommunication Engineering

Vocational and Technical Trainer- Building Technology

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have a Diploma in any of the following fields: Building Technology, Land Surveying, Building Construction, Plumbing or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.

Note: Pedagogy and Practical experience in the relevant niche area will be an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:-

• undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
• preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
• setting and marking examination/assignment;
• carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and
• supervising trainees’ projects and practical work

Vocational and Technical Trainer- Information Communication Technology (ICT)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information and Communications Technology, or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.

Note: Pedagogy and Practical experience in the relevant niche area will be an added advantage

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:-

• undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
• preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
• setting and marking examination/assignment;
• carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and
• supervising trainees’ projects and practical work

Vocational and Technical Trainers- Secretarial Studies

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

• a Higher Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Business Management, Human Resource Management, Public Relations, Media Studies, Journalism, Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Cooperative Management, Banking and Finance, Secretarial Studies, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Community Development & Social Work or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution; and
• been registered by the relevant professional body (where applicable)

Note: Pedagogy and Practical experience in the relevant niche area will be an added advantage

Vocational and Technical Trainers- Clothing and Textile/Fashion and Design

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in any of the following fields: Clothing and Textiles Technology, Fashion Design, or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution

Vocational and Technical Trainers- Cosmetology / Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma/TVET-CDACC level 6/City & Guilds in any of the following fields: Hair & Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.

Note: Pedagogy and Practical experience in the relevant niche area will be an added advantage

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:-

• undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
• preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
• setting and marking examination/assignment;
• carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and
• supervising trainees’ projects and practical work

Vocational and Technical Trainers- Aquaculture and Fisheries

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

• a Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Production/Plant), Automotive Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Medical Engineering, or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution;
• been registered by the relevant professional body (where applicable)

Vocational and Technical Trainers- Electrical Telecommunication Engineering

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

• a Bachelors Degree in any of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Telecommunication Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution; and
• been registered by the relevant professional body (where applicable)

• undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus; 
• preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work; 
• setting and marking examination/assignment; 
• carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer; and 
• supervising trainees’ projects and practical work

Method of Application Interested and qualified persons are requested to submit their applications directly to the institutions where vacancies exist by filling ONE (1) PSC 2 (Revised 2016) application form and attaching copies of National ID card, academic and professional certificates, transcripts. So as to reach the respective Boards/Councils on or before 17th April 2023 (Latest 5. 00p.m East African Time).
