Tana River County is a county in the former Coast Province, Kenya. It is named after the Tana River. It has an area of 38,437 square kilometers (14,841 sq mi) and a population of 315,943. The capital and largest town is Hola (sometimes known as Galole).
We are recruiting to fill the following positions;
- Assistant Ward-Based Supervisors – (6) Positions
- Ward-Based Supervisors – (15) Positions
- Senior Supervisors – (3) Positions
- Agri-preneurs/Enumerators – (166) Position
Assistant Ward-Based Supervisors – (6) Positions
For appointment as an Assistant Ward-Based Supervisors, a candidate must:
- Minimum academic qualification of a Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institutionpreferably in Agricultural Sciences, Statistics, Community Development or any other relateddiscipline.
- Must be computer literate and able to use a tablet.
- Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili/English the ability to converse in the Local Dialectwill be an added advantage.
- The assistant supervisors will also be identified from county government staff andshouldpreferably be Frontline/field service providers.
- Should be currently working in the target ward.
- Participation in similar exercises involving data collection will be an added advantage
- Expected to assist the ward-based supervisor in providing oversight
Ward-Based Supervisors – (15) Positions
For appointment as a Ward-Based Supervisors, a candidate must:
- Minimum academic qualification of a Degree from a recognized University preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Statistics, Social Sciences, Community Development and any otherrelated disciplines.
- Must be computer literate and able to use a tablet.
- Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, English, and Local Dialect.
- The supervisors will also be identified from county government staff. Considerationwill begiven to the civil servants in the county.
- Should be currently work the Ward that He/ She will be supervising.
- Participation in similar exercises. Experience on extension and data collection will beanadded advantage
Senior Supervisors – (3) Positions
For appointment as a Senior Supervisor, a candidate must:
- Minimum academic qualification of a Degree from a recognized University preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Statistics, Social Sciences, Community Development and any otherrelated disciplines
- Must be computer literate and able to use a tablet
- Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, and English.
- The supervisors will also be identified from county government staff. Considerationwill begiven to the civil servants in the county.
- Senior County officers and subject matter specialists at Sub-county or County level;
- Experience on personnel management, supervision, extension and data collection advantageg) Participation in similar exercises will be an added advantage
Agri-preneurs/Enumerators – (166) Position
Requirement for Appointment of:
- Must be between 20 – 45 years of Age with a national ID
- Must be an active resident of the ward in which the profiling exercise is being undertakenc) Minimum academic qualification of a post-secondary qualifications froma recognizedinstitution, preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Agribusiness, Statistics, Social Sciences, Community Development & related disciplines
- Demonstrate some experience in agriculture or agribusiness & interactions with farmers.
- Must own a smart phone & be computer literate.
- Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, English & the local dialect in their locality.
- Ability & willingness to remain personally involved & committed on full time basis.
- Strong past experience in community mobilization & training farmers on agricultural value
