The Center for Latin American Studies at Berkeley University of California (UC Berkeley) provides grants for graduate students in the final stages of dissertation writing.
This fellowship is available for advanced graduate students in the last year of PhD dissertation writing to help them complete projects in Latin American Studies (broadly defined). Latin Americanists from all disciplines are welcome to apply.
Funding amount:
A stipend of $2,500. Funds will be disbursed in the summer.
Eligibility
- Open to Latin Americanists from all disciplines
- Graduate students should be in the final stages of dissertation writing.
Application
To apply for funding, please submit a one page proposal (double spaced) that includes the following information:
- Your name and affiliation
- Your dissertation title and committee
- A brief description of your dissertation topic
Submit applications as a PDF to clas@berkeley.edu(link sends e-mail) by April 15, 2022. The subject of your email should be “Summer Dissertation Writing Fellowship.”
Applications are due April 15 and funding decisions will be made by May 15.
