This article provides detailed information on how to register for the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) membership.


SAICA is a South African-based PAO formally established in 1980. SAICA is responsible for setting ethical as well as initial and continuing professional development (CPD) requirements for its members and establishing an investigative and disciplinary system for its members.

SAICA Registration 2023
Only SAICA members with the designation of CA(SA) are eligible to register as Registered Auditors (RAs) with the IRBA, and if admitted, they are authorized to offer audit services in South Africa and are subject to full regulation by the IRBA. In addition to being a member of IFAC, SAICA is a member of the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA).
SAICA Membership Requirements
Minimum supporting documentation required (i.e. you should have these documents ready when submitting an application) for us to successfully review an application:

Once you have a username and password for the Member Portal, then you are ready to log on to the Member Portal and apply for membership or associateship with SAICA.
SAICA Membership Fees
The SAICA Board approved a 4,3% increase in membership subscriptions for 2022. A 25% reduction in entrance fees was approved to encourage new member growth. The membership subscriptions for 2022 are as follows:

Please note that non-resident members who have completed and submitted their non-resident declaration are not liable for VAT.
All subscription invoices are issued in the name of the individual member. Under no circumstances will subscription invoices be made out in the name of a company.
Long service members will receive all services at no cost.
