Applications are invited from suitably qualified and eligible candidates for the Numerical Machining Complex Recruitment Form 2023.

Numerical Machining Complex (NMC) is a public company incorporated on 4th January 1994 and is under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives. NMC is owned by Kenya Railways having 51% and Kenya Shipyard Limited 49% shares in trust of the Government. NMC is a mechanical engineering based company and well equipped with modern facilities and highly skilled staff for design and manufacture of machinery and components. The facilities are for the design work, machining, fabrication, foundry works, heat treatment and a metallurgical laboratory.

We are recruiting to fill the positions below;

1. Internal Audit Manager- NMC 3
2. Internal Auditor I- NMC 5

Internal Audit Manager- NMC 3

JOB PROFILE
The Internal Audit Manager responsibilities include among others the following:-

• Supervise and guide staff in Audit Unit.
• Promote good Corporate Governance and compliance with various laws and regulations impacting on the company’s operations
• Liaise with the external auditors
• Coordinate responses to management letters from the external auditors
• Coordinate preparation of Public Investment Committee (PIC) reports and follow up on the implementing their recommendations.
• Interpret financial policies to promote sound auditing principles/practices
• Oversee the training and development of staff in the Internal Audit Unit
• Conduct annual performance appraisal of staff against set targets and objectives
• Provide management with analysis, appraisal, recommendations, counsel, and pertinent observations resulting from the activities reviewed
• Advise management on financial matters and members of the Board Risk and Audit committee.
• Reviewing the effectiveness of the internal audit function and developing and reviewing the annual audit.
• Overseeing stocktaking exercise, risk assessment, corruption risk assessment, anti-corruption awareness activities/programmes and chairing Integrity Assurance Committee.

PERSON PROFILE

• Should be a person of high integrity and should meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Kenya Constitution and Article 232 on Values and Principles of the Public Service;
• Masters Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Science (Finance or Accounting Option)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accountancy, Finance or Audit option)
• CPA-K or ACCA-Final (Registered with ICPAK)
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) & Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
• Have a Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4)weeks
• At least 7 years’ experience in auditing and finance management in public sector,three (3) of which are in senior management position.
• Strong interpersonal skills 
• Proven ability and professional competence in Auditing and Finance management in a manufacturing or production environment;
• Good analytical skills

Internal Auditor I- NMC 5

JOB PROFILE
The role of the Internal Auditor I will include among others the following:-

• The position holder will be responsible for the following:-
• Undertake audit assignments and preparing detailed audit observations and reports; 
• Carry out institutional risk evaluation, and efficiency audit; 
• Conduct financial and systems audit; 
• Participate in developing and updating internal audit manual; 
• Stocktaking and carrying out risk assessment, corruption risk assessment and anti-corruption awareness activities.

PERSON PROFILE

• Should be a person of high integrity and should meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Kenya Constitution and Article 232 on Values and Principles of the Public Service.
• Should have served in the grade of Internal Auditor II for at least four (4) years; 
• Have a Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Finance/Accounting/Auditing option), Economics or its equivalent qualification from recognized institution. 
• Have a Certificate in Certified Public Accountant (CPA) II or three (III) parts of Certified Internal Auditor Exams from a recognized institution; 
• Have a Certificate in Computer Application Skills; and 
• Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
