Tunisia’s minimum wage is set at 340 Tunisian dinars ($220) per month for a 48-hour work week and 290 dinars ($199) per month for a 40hour workweek for the industrial sector. 9 dinars ($6.50) to 14 dinars ($10) per day for agricultural workers and are supplemented with transportation and family allowances.
The new minimum wage is aimed at improving productivity in both the public and private sectors of the Tunisian economy. It is also aimed to protect workers against unduly low pay.
