Student Loan Forgiveness Programs

If you’re like most college graduates, you left school with a lot of debt. According to the Federal Reserve, adults in 2019 who had college debt generally owed between $20,000 and $24,999. For those struggling with student debt, loan forgiveness or loan discharge can sound like a dream come true. Below is a list of student loan forgiveness programs starting with National Student Loans. Many programs have a maximum amount that will be forgiven, however, the actual amount will vary from person to person.

  • Each state has its own iteration of a rural or low-income forgiveness program for health care professionals.
  • There are student loan forgiveness programs for the various branches of the military and federal agencies.
  • Receiving payments from one loan forgiveness program may affect the recipient’s eligibility for another loan forgiveness program.
