KUCCPS Placement Application Portal

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) is a state corporation established to co-ordinate the placement of Government Sponsored Students to Universities, Public Tvet Colleges, and TTCs and to develop career guidance programs for the benefit of students among other functions.

KUCCPS Eligibility: Who can apply for KUCCPS?

If you are going to apply for placement through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) then there are certain qualifications and requirements you need to know before making your KUCCPS application.

The following are the things that determine if you are eligible to apply for KUCCPS placement:

  • You must be a Kenyan citizen.
  • You must have done and completed KCSE.
  • Applications are done online.

Note that all candidates are eligible to apply for KUCCPS placement irrespective of the year in which you did your KCSE.

However, priority is always given to those that have recently finished KCSE over previous fellas. That’s not to say you’ll miss placement if you are older.

Also, keep in mind that applications for Degree programmes are usually prioritized for the immediate KCSE candidates.

KUCCPS Application Requirements

All KUCCPS applications are done online through the KUCCPS student portal.

For you to be able to access the students’ portal and apply you will require the following;

  • KCSE Index Number.
  • KCPE Index Number, or
  • Birth Certificate Number
  • An email address (you can open one for free).
  • A phone number.
  • Enough money in your Mpesa to pay for revision.

The revision charge is Ksh. 1,000 for those candidates who had applied in school during centre/school application and Ksh. 1,500 for those who had not applied to school.

KUCCPS Admission Requirements and Qualifications

Just like we stated earlier your overall KCSE grade plays an important role in choosing what you can apply for.

The following are the KUCCPS admission requirements and qualifications:

  • Grade C+ and above for Degree courses.
  • Grade C- and above for Diploma courses.
  • Grade D(plain) and above for Craft Certificate courses.
  • Grade D– and below for Artisan Certificate courses.

(i) Applicants with an overall grade of C+(plus) and above are allowed to make a maximum of 6 choices for Degree programmes where 1(a), 1(b) and 1(c) must be similar programmes, and 4 for Diploma programmes.

(ii) Applicants with an overall grade of C-(minus) and above are allowed to make a maximum of 8 choices: 4 of these for Diploma and 4 for Craft Certificate programmes.

(iii) Applicants with an overall grade of D(plain) and above are allowed to make a maximum of 8 choices: 4 for Craft Certificate and 4 for Artisan Certificate programmes.

(iv) Applicants with an overall grade of below D are allowed to make a maximum of 4 choices for Artisan Certificate programmes.

How to apply for KUCCPS placement

To apply for KUCCPS placement you need to login into your student portal and choose the programmes you want to apply for then complete by paying for the KUCCPS application through Mpesa.

How to Access the KUCCPS Placement Student Portal

With an internet-enabled device, follow the steps below:

  • Goto the KUCCPS Student Portal Login – https://students.kuccps.net/login/
  • Enter your KCSE INDEX NUMBER in the first field.
  • Next, enter your KCSE YEAR in the required field.
  • Enter your PASSWORD (Use Your Birth Certificate No. / KCPE Index No (as used in KCSE Exam Registration) as your Initial Password)
  • Finally, click the LOGIN button to access your KUCCPS Portal.

KUCCPS Student Portal

The KUCCPS student online portal (https://students.kuccps.net/) enables you to perform the following activities:

  • Application for Kuccps admission to university or College and Course (Programme) of Choice,
  • Checking admission status,
  • Downloading the student application guide,
  • Downloading admission letters,
  • Checking courses offered at the institutions and
  • Applying for inter-institution transfers.
  • and many more

Checking KUCCPS Placement Results

One of the surest ways of checking your admission results is by using the KUCCPS online portal.

Proceed to use the procedure below to check your placement results;

  • Visit: http://students.kuccps.net/
  • Login with your details as follows;
  • Username: (Use your full Index Number)
  • Year: (2020)
  • Password: (Use your Birth Certificate Number or KCPE index number)
  • After login, you should see a box at the bottom of your dashboard, first page, with a message that reads

Congratulations, followed by a university you have been placed then finally the course you will pursue.

You can as well download your admission letter from this portal.
