Kisii County is a county in the former Nyanza Province in southwestern Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Kisii. The county has a population of 1,266,860 people. It borders Nyamira County to the North East, Narok County to the South, and Homabay and Migori Counties to the West. The county covers an area of 1,317.5 km. The county is inhabited mostly by the Gusii people.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions;

  1. Chairperson (1 post)
  2. Members (5 Posts)

Chairperson (1 post)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
The County Public Service Board will be responsible for the following:-

  • Establishing and abolishing offices in the County Public Service
  • Appointing persons thold or act in the County Public offices including those on the boards of urban areas within the county, and tconfirm appointments
  • Exercise disciplinary control over and removal of persons holding or acting in the county offices as provided for
  • Prepare regular reports for submission tthe County Assembly on the execution of the function of the board
  • Promote in the County Public Service Board the values and Principles referred tin Article 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
  • Evaluate and report tthe County Assembly on the extent twhich the values and principles referred tin Article 10 and 232 of the Constitution are complied within the County Public Service
  • Facilitate the development of coherent, integrated human resource planning and budgeting processes for personnel emoluments in the County
  • Advise the County Government on the human resource management and development
  • Advise the County Government on the implementation and monitoring of the national management system in the County
  • Make recommendation tthe Salaries and Remuneration Commission on behalf of the County government on the remuneration, pensions and gratuities for the county public service employees

Requirements

For appointment tthis position one should;

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen
  • Be in possession of a first degree from a University recognized in Kenya
  • Have a working experience of not less than ten (10) years for Chairperson and not less than five (5) years for Member
  • Satisfies the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity
  • Be a professional whdemonstrates absence of breach of the relevant professional code of conduct
  • Not be a state or public officer
  • Understand the diversity within the County
  • Be committed tbe part of a team that will enable the County Government achieve its vision

Terms of service

  • Contract Six (6) years (Non-renewable)
  • May Serve on part time-basis.
  • Salary
  • As prescribed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRc)
