The Kenya Pipeline Company was incorporated on 6 September 1973 and started commercial operations in 1978. The company is a state corporation under the Ministry of Energy with 100% government shareholding. Kenya Pipeline Company operates a pipeline system for transportation of refined petroleum products from Mombasa to Nairobi and western Kenya towns of Nakuru, Kisumu and Eldoret. Working closely with the National Oil Corporation of Kenya, KPC operates 5 storage and distribution depots for conventional petroleum products, located in Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa, Nairobi and Nakuru. Depots are fed by domestic-manufactured product from the Kenya Petroleum Refinery near Nairobi and imported, refined petroleum product from the Kipevu Oil Storage Facility near Mombasa. The company operates two aviation fuel depots at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, Nairobi, and Moi International Airport, Mombasa.

Campus Principal

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall supervision of the campus operations.
  • Ensure implementation of MIOG policies and procedures.
  • Academic leader for all programs.
  • Supervision of teaching and quality control to ensure compliance with sector regulations.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of MIOG facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure achievement of financial profitability and sustainability of the campus.
  • Promote a culture of teaching and research excellence in the campus.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of a strategic vision for the campus, in alignment with the MIOG strategic plan.
  • Allocate, manage, and deploy resources to support the operations of the campus.
  • Support marketing of MIOG programs.
  • Contribute to the further development of a high-quality curriculum and assessment practices at MIOG.
  • Produce high quality research and publications of international excellence.
  • Apply for external research funding and work on funded research projects.
  • Forge cross-disciplinary collaborative research links within and outside MIOG.
  • Facilities management.

Requirements for appointment

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised Uuniversity in addition to a Master’s degree in a relevant field. Evidence of pursuing/PhD will be an added advantage.
  • Have vast knowledge and experience in a TVET college or University Campus setting  of not less than 10 years, 5 years of which should be in a management position as anadministrator or coordinator.
  • Pedagogical skills in education and registration with relevant and recognized professional bodies.
  • Demonstrate high standards of professional competence and ability in the management of Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

Students’ Counsellor

JOB REF: MIOG/ADVT/13/2023

Duties and Responsibilities for the positions

  • Facilitate group counselling and/or support groups to enhance learning and support from other students.
  • Development, planning, implementation and evaluation of awareness campaigns on HIV and AIDS, alcohol and drug abuse, sexual, reproductive and mental health.
  • Crisis intervention through provision of defusing, debriefing, and trauma counselling either individually or in groups geared towards restoration of healthy psychological, cognitive and social functioning.
  • Research, design, develop and disseminate information/educational and publicity materials (notice board campaigns, posters, brochures, e-mail messages) that create awareness, guide the prevention and management of emerging and contextual issues likely to impact negatively on students. 
  • Strengthen Scholars’ life skills through psychoeducation, planning and facilitating training on life skills, consulting with various student groups, clubs and sport teams, student leaders for development of life skills and leadership skills.
  • Maintain a wide range of mental health contacts to facilitate appropriate referrals for Scholars needing specialized treatment and care and consultation. 
  • Prepare comprehensive professional clinical notes on client (Scholars) progress for ongoing care and reference.
  • Prepare comprehensive semester counselling and events reports.
  • Conduct needs and impact /client satisfaction surveys.

Requirements for appointment 

  • Bachelor’s degree in counselling/Psychology from a recognized University.
  • Membership to a Professional Association.
  • Served as a counselling officer or its equivalent for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Certificate of good conduct.
  • NASCOP VCT certification for HIV Testing will be an added advantage
