Kenya Commercial Bank Limited is registered as a non-operating holding company which started operations as a licensed banking institution with effect from January 1, 2016. The holding company oversees KCB Kenya – incorporated with effect from January 1, 2016 – and all KCB’s regional units in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia and South Sudan. It also owns KCB Insurance Agency, KCB Capital, KCB Foundation and all associate companies. The holding company was set up to among other things to enhance the Group’s capacity to access unrestricted capital and also enable investment in new ventures outside banking regulations, achieve operational and strategic autonomy for the Group’s operating entities and enhance corporate governance across the Group and oversight in management of subsidiaries.

We are currently recruiting to fill the following positions;

  1. Cybersecurity Analyst
  2. Business Architect
  3. Quality Assurance Engineer

Cybersecurity Analyst

Reporting to a Senior Manager Cyber Security, the role is tasked with providing technical security expertise in all areas of network, system, data, and application security. The role works closely with the various teams in the Enterprise Security Architecture and technology teams to ensure that systems and networks are always designed, developed, deployed, and managed with an emphasis on strong, effective security and risk management controls.

The role holder is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of securing various Bank’s information systems and maintenance of security solutions that have been deployed to achieve this objective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support administration, optimization, and support the Bank’s Technical security solutions, including perimeter email, cloud, network, endpoint, and data security solutions in compliance with the Bank’s policies and standards.
  • Provide technical security related support to ICT projects and changes from inception through to successful implementation, to ensure cybersecurity requirements are met before introduction to production environments.
  • Contribute to the development of Technical Security Policies and Minimum-Security Configuration Baseline Standards in line with industry best practices and technologies commensurate with risk and regulatory requirements and implementing the same cost effectively.
  • Conduct security assessments of technical infrastructure security configuration against established minimum security baseline standards to provide optimum security, performance, and availability.
  • Provide tactical security expertise across various security domains as assigned from time to time.
  • Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Intelligence and Security Operations Centre (CiSOC) in the continuous monitoring and defence of the Bank’s infrastructure for cybersecurity threat indicators, assist to detect, report, and respond to technical security violations/incidents.
  • Appropriately and practically defend the Bank’s technical infrastructure, in accordance with established policies, procedures, guidelines and practices.
  • Provide input into Cyber Security risk and control self-assessments by leveraging knowledge in technical security and mitigating information and cyber risks identified by various assurance teams such as Information Risk and Audit.
  • Research on and provide technical security expertise in the Group Cyber Security department.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field of study.
  • At least one security certification from the list:CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker; CISA: Certified Information Systems Auditor; CISM: Certified Information Security Manager; CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional; SSCP: Systems Security Certified Practitioner; CompTIA Security+; OSCP: Offensive Security Certified Professional.
  • 1 year experience in Information / IT / Cyber Security.
  • 1 year experience in Security / Systems / Database / Network Administration.

Business Architect

The Business Architect will interpret and contextualize strategy for operational needs, develop specific artifacts such as business capability maps and value streams to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution, and help streamline and rationalize the IT enablement process.

The primary focus will be the alignment of technology solutions to business needs through the analysis of business requirements, motivations, business operations and business models & frameworks.

This role reports to Snr Manager, Business Architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, analyzing, evaluating ideas and opportunities to develop new solutions, new technologies and business models for the business.
  • Participate through scrums for the planning and execution of business initiatives / projects that move ideas from ideation, proto typing to full implementation.
  • Conducts reviews and analysis of business requirements / organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of business applications.
  • Creating business architecture models demonstrating how products, operations and systems interoperate within the organization.
  • Conduct analysis to determine best path for solving business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement, systems enhancement, user training, and/or software procurement.
  • Ensure solutions proposed for development are aligned to enterprise architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet operational targets / expectations.
  • Define data needs/shared across the business and their interrelation.
  • Works closely with solution/technical architects to deliver business architecture artifacts needed for End-to-End Enterprise Architecture & Solution Architecture Approach deliverables.
  • Functions as a liaison to Business and IT partners in order to gain a broad understanding of technology / industry trends and innovations, and their impact on the business.
  • Provide architectural support in projects; ensure requirements are in alignment with business strategies and business architecture roadmap/framework.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information technology or a related field of study. 
  • Professional Qualifications such as CBAP, TOGAF or Project Management such as Prince2 is added advantage.
  • 4+ years progressive experience in Information Technology with focus on Business Analysis, Applications Architecture or Software Development.
  • Experience in at least two IT disciplines such as (Business Analysis, Application architecture, application development, middleware, and SOA).
  • Prior working experience in formal Business Analysis / Applications Architecture.
  • Experience with operating systems (Windows, Unix).
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.

Quality Assurance Engineer

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for implementing automated test strategies and frameworks, in addition to creating, implementing, and automating testing in support of software test requirements.

The Quality Engineer works with QA Analysts to develop, maintain, and enhance the test automation framework and automation infrastructure. The Quality Assurance Engineer demonstrates strong technical and programming/test automation skill set.

This role reports to Senior Manager, IT Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributes towards strategy formulation which includes decomposing the business and technical requirements into test scenarios, defining test data requirements, managing test case creation and other testing preparation activities.
  • Work with Quality Assurance Engineers in reviews of test plans, designs, and requirements documents with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform effort estimates for projects QA activities and tasks and develop plans and schedules based on the estimates.
  • Implement Test Automation leveraging test automation frameworks.
  • Executes and reports on planned tests, report and manage defects, regress software fixes for new and existing products, assist development with replicating and debugging problems and develop new test automation solutions as needed.
  • Design, implement and manage automated suites of black-box and white-box test scripts.
  • Research, Develop and/or Recommend tools to assist QA Analysts in test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Utilize tools such as code coverage tools to assess the coverage of test suites and make recommendations for additional test cases.
  • Monitor test execution across multiple code branches and multiple platforms and performing code reviews.
  • Management and maintenance of Test Environments.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study.
  • Project management and Quality Assurance certifications will be added advantage.
  • 4 years progressive experience in Information Technology.
  • 3 years Software Development Experience.
