Job Title: Gender and Inclusion Officer

Primary Function / Purpose
- Under the supervision of the IFES Nigeria Deputy Country Director/Head of Programs, the Gender and Inclusion Officer will design support IFES Nigeria’s operations in planning and implementing program activities with regard to gender equity and inclusion of persons with disabilities, youth and marginalized groups in electoral and political processes.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Design and conduct assessments of national legal framework as well as internal policies, practices and initiatives of national election management bodies (EMBs) to assess their impact on the participation of men and women, persons with disabilities, and youth in electoral processes;
- Assist INEC and targeted SIECs in the design and implementation of policies and procedures that increase the participation of women, persons with disabilities and youth in elections and within the commissions;
- Advise and work closely with the INEC Gender and Inclusivity Department to provide technical support for reforms, initiatives and programs undertaken by the Commission;
- Advise and support the planning and implementation of capacity development activities for INEC staff in headquarters and state offices, with regard to gender equity and inclusion;
- Advise INEC on international best practices to reflect gender equity and inclusion principles and practices pertaining to electoral management;
- Provide advice and support to INEC’s civic and voter education strategies to increase participation of women, persons with disabilities, youth and marginalized groups.
- Support the IFES program team with designing and implementing program activities aimed at enhancing INEC’s capacity to implement gender-sensitive and inclusive policies and practices
- Provide input into monitoring and evaluation plans and assist with monitoring to ensure that the program impacts are accurately and adequately measured, especially with regards to activities’ impacts on men, women, persons with disabilities, youth and/or other marginalized groups.
- Work with INEC Civil Society Division on engaging youth and CSOs to better understand, participate in and contribute to credible elections;
- Contribute to the development of program reporting on gender, inclusion and related areas of programming.
Position Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Human Rights, Gender Studies or a related field
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in gender and inclusion programming, with a background in human rights and a rights-based approach to development.
- Demonstrated experience working on projects promoting the participation of women, persons with disabilities, youth and/or marginalized groups in governance and elections in Nigeria.
- Familiarity with USAID and other donor gender policies
- Highest consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate strong and proven track record with democracy and governance work.
- Social media and multimedia skills.
- The ability to remain organized while handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English, including the ability to draft material in a variety of styles, for different audiences and within tight deadlines (established track record of writing and/or editing materials for publication).

Job Title: Finance & Accounting Coordinator
Position Number: 21:257

Primary Function / Purpose
- The Finance and Accounting Coordinator will provide finance and Accounting support to the IFES-Nigeria field finance office.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Handling of Petty Cash transactions and payments.
- Review and process Travel Expense Reports submitted by staff and vendors.
- Coordinate and process banking transactions.
- Assist in reconciliation of Bank Statements.
- Assist in the preparation of Field Office Wire Transfer Requests to be reviewed by DoFA before being submitted to IFES HQ.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and bi-weekly staff payroll.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets.
- Assist in reviewing sub-grantee financial reports to ensure compliance with terms of sub- grant and liaising with sub-grantee(s) where and when necessary.
- Under supervision of the Finance Manager, maintain tax records and statutory deductions and make timely and correct payments to authorities.
- Handle photocopying and scanning of payment vouchers and other reports.
Position Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other relevant field is required.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of Accounting, Finance and/or Business Administration.
- Demonstrated financial management and accounting skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and being able to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Accounting Software, specifically QuickBooks
- The ability to remain organized while handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Ability to complete tasks with minimum supervision
- Excellent communication skills in order to be able to work with IFES program and administrative staff to identify and resolve issues
- Ability to keep and maintain secrecy on all payroll related functions

Job Title: Project Coordinator

Primary Function/Purpose
- The Project Coordinator will provide programmatic support to the IFES- Nigeria field office.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist Country Director/Deputy Country Director and the program team in implementing project activities.
- Assist in delivering trainings and facilitating events with project beneficiaries;
- Interface with IFES partners on specific areas of IFES programming and implementation
- Contribute to lessons learned sessions for outreach teams and other partners.
- Contribute to the design and preparation of training materials.
- Assist Director/Deputy Country Director and the program team in organizing program activities, including assessments and workshops.
- Assist in scheduling program meetings with partners, taking notes, and drafting reports on the outcome of such meetings.
- Advise Country Director/Deputy Country Director or designee on political/electoral developments and provide recommendations on matters related to the project objectives.
- Provide support to international and local consultants.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of data for monitoring and evaluation of activities.
- Draft program reports including field trip reports, weekly reports, quarterly reports and other program reports and work plan.
- Take minutes during program meetings and serve as rapporteur for program events.
- Maintain detailed records of program activities and files on IFES database and file cabinet.
- Proper tracking and documentation of political and election-related activities in the media.
- Provide input on the design and formulation of new program activities.
- Travel outside of Abuja for project activities as required.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Governance, Development, Social Sciences or related field required.
