Types Of IELTS Exams
There are two types of IELTS Exams: IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training. The test you choose should be based on what you intend to do. You can also opt for either the paper test or the computer-based test.
Who Is Eligible To Take IELTS
The IELTS exam requires a minimum age of 16 years regardless of nationality or background. However, if it was for Academic purposes, an exception can be granted.
IELTS Exams Fee
The IELTS Exams fee is within the range of ₦83,000-₦89,000.
IELTS Cancellation Fee
If you cancel your IELTS Exams up to five weeks before the test date, you will receive a refund minus an administration fee of 25% of the test fee. However, you can contact your test centre to know the latest development in this area.
IELTS Rescheduling Fee
If you need to reschedule your IELTS Exams, you’ll be charged an administrative fee of 25%. You can contact your local test centre for more information.
How To Register for IELTS
- Visit the official IELTS website.
- Go to ‘Register for Test’ option.
- Select your preferred test, Test type, and available Test Date in the city.
- Give your personal details and ensure it is correctly entered.
IELTS Exams Pattern
The test comprises four sections: Reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
The duration for each test are as follow:
Reading: 60 minutes (40 questions)
Listening: 30 minutes + 10 minutes transfer time (4 recordings)
Writing: 60 minutes (2 questions)
Speaking: 11-14 minutes (3 questions)
How Long Is The IELTS Test
The total duration for the IELTS test is 2 hours 45 minutes.
How Is IELTS Score Calculated
You’ll get a band score for your listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills after which the average score of your performance is calculated and that is your final score. However, if your final score is not precise, your average score will be either rounded up or down to the nearest 0.5. For example, if your band score is 7.9 it will be rounded up to 8.
How To Access Your IELTS Score Report
If you have taken IELTS Exams, you can access your result on the Test Taker Portal. If you took the paper test, you’ll be able to access your result after 13 days from the day of your exam and if you took the computer-based test, you should be able to access your result within 3-5 days after the exam.
