ICAN Exam Centers in Nigeria: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) was established by the Act of Parliament No.15 of 1965 to regulate the practice of the Accountancy Profession in Nigeria and to set standards to be attained by persons seeking to be members of the profession.
It was meant to determine the skills and knowledge required for anyone to become an accountant, as well as establish and maintain the registry of associates, fellows, and accountants.
Over the years, it has grown into a large community of accountants that has certified over 38 thousand chartered accountants that are engaged in different sectors of the economy.
The Institute regulates ethical standards for the profession and has a strong mechanism for enforcing its compliance by all members.
ICAN develops and assesses the highest quality Qualifying Examinations for Professional Accountants in Africa, and offers specialty credentials through 7 Specialist Faculties for Chartered Accountants who choose to concentrate on the specialist accounting profession.
ICAN is a founding and prominent member of the International Federation of Accountants IFAC, the body that regulates the Accountancy profession worldwide.

About ICAN Exams
ICAN Nigeria offers two types of exams. The first type is professional examinations, and it is meant for the holders of bachelor’s degrees or Higher National Diplomas in any discipline and holders of ICAN AAT qualification.
The second type is the Accounting Technician Scheme exams. This one is for those who have obtained five Ordinary Level credits (Mathematics and English included) at two sittings or less.
