About The Hulamin Bursary
The Hulamin Bursary is offered once a year to those dedicated individuals who want to achieve their goals to further their studies and career.
In the second year of studies, students will be eligible for a notebook laptop with the opportunity to work at Hulamin for at least one holiday period per year. Regular compulsory meetings and assessment study reviews will take place between students and Hulamin.
What will the Bursary cover?
The Bursary will cover the following items:
- Tuition fees
- Study books
- Registration fees
- Annual cash allowance
- Accommodation and meals
Hulamin Bursary Application Form – Eligibility/Requirements
Students who intend on studying a first degree in any of the following disciplines should apply:
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Accounting
Students need to meet the following requirements:
- South African citizen
- Resident in Pietermaritzburg or the surrounding area
- Must be from a previously disadvantaged background
- Must meet minimum requirements and registered at a recognised University for the chosen degree
- Minimum Matric results all higher grade:
- Minimum B symbol in Mathematics, Physical Science and English for the engineering degree
- Minimum B symbol in Accountancy and English for the Accounting degree
Hulamin Bursary Application Form – How to Apply
The following documents must be submitted with the application form:
- Certified copy of ID document
- A complete study record or annual results of completed examinations
- Certified copy of grade 12 June examination results
- Copy of relevant funding from another institute for your studies
- Certified copies of any other relevant certificates
