How Do I Book My SGR By Phone?
This is how to book SGR through m-pesa by phone.
- On your phone call the SGR booking code *639#. This will open a prompt to allow you to book a train ticket by purchasing a Madaraka Express ticket and pay using M-PESA. Note that SGR fares for first class travelers you pay shs.3000 at the moment whilst an economy class seat costs shs.1000.
- Fill the details asked and within minutes you have booked your train.
- You will receive confirmation message by both Mpesa and SGR about your ticket/
Guidelines For Buying Tickets Using Phone
Purchase up to 5 tickets in one transaction from the convenience of your own home, workplace, or even on the go, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You can reserve your ticket seven (7) days ahead of time, as well as a return ticket, as long as you stay inside the (seven) seven-day timeframe.
Tickets can also be purchased at the Mombasa and Nairobi termini, as well as the respective leaving intermediate station, or by paying via M-PESA.

SGR Timetable From Nairobi To Mombasa
The Madaraka Express train, which runs from Nairobi to Mombasa, is currently available at the Nairobi Terminus at Syokimau.
Every day at 8:00 a.m., the train departs from Nairobi and arrives at 1:55 p.m in Mombasa.
At 14:20 p.m., the afternoon train departs Nairobi and arrives in Mombasa at 19:20 p.m.

If you are going from Mombasa to Nairobi, you can board the Madaraka Express train at the Mombasa Terminus in Mombasa county, Miritini area.
At 07:15 a.m., the train departs Mombasa and arrives in Nairobi at 1:05 p.m.
At 15:15 p.m., the afternoon train departs Mombasa and arrives in Nairobi at 20:20 p.m.
