The Global Sustainability Scholars programme brings together talented undergraduates for a paid summer immersive experience, where students travel abroad, conduct research, and build their professional network in real-world sustainability issues.
Each year they select undergraduates to join a GSS cohort and the larger international sustainability solutions community. Scholars get paid over two summers while focusing their training and research on a theme within Sustainability.
Benefits
- Scholars are paid $600 per week for their participation and all travel and accommodation covered by the GSS programme.
Eligibility
- GSS Scholars must be in their third year of study (Juniors) of undergraduate studies, currently enrolled, in good standing academically, and working toward their first undergraduate degree in sustainability sciences or related fields.
- GSS Scholars must be U.S. citizens and have the proper legal documentation to travel abroad (passport).
Application
The application is online only, and consists of five short answer/essay questions on your views of sustainability, recent unofficial transcripts, and one letter of recommendation from a professor or community member/supervisor.
Once logged in, applicants can finish their applications. They advise applicants to look at the essay questions, compose their essays offline and cut and paste their final essays into the online application.
