FSB-BEA Scholarship

The Federal Scholarship Board by the Federal Ministry of Education of Nigeria is now offering the 2023-2024 Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards for Undergraduate, Masters and PhD students to study Overseas.

 The Honourable Minister of Education, is hereby inviting interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2023-2024 Nomination Interview for Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards for:

  1. Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), etc.; and 
  2. Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and PhD) in all fields.

The participating countries are responsible for the tuition and accommodation, while the Nigerian government takes care of supplement, warm clothing, health insurance, research grant where applicable and take-off.

Requirements for FSB Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

  • All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Five (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Certificates should not be more than two (2) years old (2020 & 2021) for Non-African Countries and for African countries the age of certificate is one year (2021) only. 
  • Age limit is from 17 to 20 years.

Documents Required for Application

All Applicants to upload the following certificates online;

  • WAEC/WASSCE
  • Indigene letter

NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will be required to submit to Federal Scholarship Board the following:

  1. Authenticated copies of academic certificates;
  2. Data page of the current International passport;
  3. Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals;
  4. Birth Certificate & Indigene letter
  5. Police Clearance Certificate where necessary

FSB Postgraduate Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of FSB Postgraduate Scholarship

The participating countries are responsible for the tuition and accommodation, while the Nigerian government takes care of supplements, warm clothing, health insurance, research grant where applicable, and take-off.

Requirements for FSB Postgraduate Scholarship Qualification

All applicants for Postgraduate degree courses must hold a  First  Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd  Class Upper Division.

All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. Programme and the age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.

          i)  N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates only are  accepted; and

          ii)  Evidence of readiness to be released by an employer.

Documents Required for Application

  • 1st Degree Certificate, Master’s Degree  WAEC/WASSCE
  • Indigene letter & NYSC discharge certificate.

NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will be required to submit to Federal Scholarship Board the following:

  • Print the completed Application Form

GENERAL NOTE FOR ALL APPLICANTS: 

  1. Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign Language course of the Country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction;
  2. All applicants for Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference, and must visit the website:  www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu which was opened middle November to close 16th January, 2023. Complete the application form online,
  3. All applicants for Russia should visit the website http://education-in-russia.com which will open in November.
  4. All applicants for Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia;
