The Council for Legal Education is a state organ with the mandate to oversee law education in the country, assess and authorize the syllabuses of universities teaching law and also administer exams for law graduates seeking to be admitted to the bar.

CLE Exam Registration Guidelines
- Attained minimum entry requirements for admission to a university in Kenya
- Obtained a minimum grade of B(plain) in English or Kiswahili and a mean grade of C(plus) in the KCSE or its equivalent
- Has sat and passed the pre-bar examination set by the school (where applicable).
- Candidates with foreign degrees are required to first apply for clearance.
- The following attachments will be required:
KCSE/IGCSE/A/O Levels Certificates, University Degree Certificate and transcripts, Recent Color Passport size photo, National ID/Passport, and disability certificate for persons living with a disability.
- All attachments are to be scanned as original documents
- Kindly attach transcripts as one document
- All attachments are to be in pdf file format
- The maximum file size is 2MB
