3. Mall of Africa

It is located in the Waterfall City, Midrand, Gauteng. The shopping destination is owned by the Atterbury property group. It occupies an area of about 13000 square meters and boasts 6500 parking spaces. The Architectural design of this particular Mall is otherworldly. It depicts geology in Africa, mainly the oil minerals, rainforest, deserts, and lakes.

4. The Mall of Arabia

It is the largest and thus ranked top on the list of shopping malls in Africa. The Mall is located in Cairo, Egypt, in an area of approximately 267,000 square meters. It is owned by a Saudi Organization known as Fawaz Al Hokair. The Center houses modern cinema complexes, international gyms, luxurious hotels plus shops with global products.

5. Sandton City

Sandton city is not only one of the biggest malls in Africa but also among the oldest shopping Centers on the continent. It opened doors to its customers way back in 1973. The place is owned by Pareto Limited and Liberty Holdings Limited and occupies an area of about 128 square feet. It has virtually everything that a customer could desire.

6. The Gateway Theatre of Shopping

This is a prestigious shopping Center that was built by Old Mutual properties between the years 1998 and 2001. The Gateway Theatre of Shopping is situated in Umhlanga, Durban in South Africa. It is perhaps the biggest Mall in South Africa since it occupies an area of 220,000 square meters with 12,000 parking spaces.

7. Canal Walk Mall

Canal Walk never misses the list of shopping malls in South Africa. It was opened in 2000 and located in Cape Town with an affluent surrounding. Situated on 141,000 square feet, it boasts over 400 stores with luxurious products. What is spectacular about the place is the East and West towers that provide moderns office space. 8. Dembel City Center

Dembel City Center is one of the biggest Ethiopia shopping malls. It is located in the center of Addis Ababa. The twelve floors structure was built in 2002, and it has 123 spaces designated for use as shops or offices. It was the first western-style shopping center to be opened in Ethiopia.

9. Novare Lekki Mall

Novare Lekki Mall is the biggest in Lagos, Nigeria. It opened to the public in August 2016 thanks to the rapidly urbanizing district of Lekki. This is the most significant and busiest shopping Center in Botswana’s capital city, Gaborone. It has been functional since 2003 and covers and a space of about 50,000 square meters. If you are looking for fashion stores, specialty stores, and restaurants, this is the place to go to in Botswana. The cloth retailers here are Nike, Levi’s, and Edgars.
