How to Check NECTA Results Online

The period between clearing an exam and waiting for the results is the hardest period not only in the student’s life but also for the people that are related to them. It’s filled with anxiety and anticipation, with each person wondering how they will perform. In this article, you will be given detailed information on how to check your NECTA exam results online.

Every Tanzania student wishing to join the university must take the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE). The test is meant to prepare 12th-grade scholars for university studies. This exam which is managed by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) is taken in May every year.

To pass the ACSEE test, you need to obtain only three credits. You can easily determine whether you have excelled or failed from the comfort of your seat with just a few taps. Below is how you can check your form six NECTA results as well as obtain your exam slip.

To access your scores online, you will need the following:

  • A browser
  • Access to the internet
  • A tablet, laptop or desktop: You can also use your mobile phone
  • Your examination centre details and index number

Procedure to Check NECTA Results for Form Six

  • Connect to the Internet: You can use your mobile hotspot, Bluetooth tethering or even a LAN connection.
  • Open your Browser: Double-tap on Google Chrome’s logo to open it. You can also use the right-click menu to launch the program.
  • Go to the NECTA Website: Type in NECTA address on Chrome’s search and tap the ‘Enter’ button.
  • Navigate to ACSEE Results Section: On the homepage, you will be able to see the ‘Results’ link. Put your mouse cursor on it so that a drop-down menu will appear. You will see a list of all the exams supervised by the body, including STNA, SFNA, PSLE, FTNA, QT, CSEE, ACSEE, GATCE, GATSCCE, DTE, and DSEE. Click on ACSEE and move to the next step.
  • Specify your Exam Year: Tap “Click here to view” URL under the year you sat for the exams.
  • Select your Exam Centre: You can filter the results alphabetically to save time. Click the first letter of your school name to do so.
  • Access your National Examination Results: Scroll down until you see your index number. Your grades will be in the same row with it.

To obtain a copy of your ACSEE result slip, walk into the examination centre where you sat for your form six examinations.

Interpreting ACSEE Results

You have successfully accessed your ACSEE grades and scores. Next, you need to know how to decode them, as explained below:

1. AGGT: Stands for Aggregate. The column contains your total points.

2. DIV: Abbreviation for Division. Interpret this section, as shown below:

  • DIV-I = 1
  • DIV-II = 12
  • DIV-III =52
  • DIV-IV = 13
  • DIV-0 = 5

3. Detailed Subjects: This contains the grades for all the four subjects you took.

Withheld Results Code Interpretation

If your exam scores have been withheld, you will be assigned a different grade letter other than the standard A, B, C and D as illustrated below:

  • E – Withheld results or a pending examination fee payment.
  • I – Implies incomplete results due to Continuous Assessment Test (CAT) missing marks in one, two or three subjects but not all.
  • W – Nullified, cancelled, or withheld due to a piece of proven evidence that you were involved in exam irregularities or dishonesty before, in the course of, or after the ACSEE test.
  • ABS – You missed taking the examination.
  • FLD – You failed the exam.
  • X – You didn’t take the exams for the assigned subject.
